A bit damp old chap!

I’ve ticked another item off the bucket list by visiting Lords – the home of cricket. Firstly with a tour where it was wonderful to let the history of the game seep in, to walk through the Long Room as all batsmen must do, to sit in reverence in the same dressing rooms as all of the great players in the past have done. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take pictures inside.

Then yesterday Greg and I returned to watch the Notts vs Middlesex 50-over game and saw an amazing innings by Englishman James Taylor who scored 100 off 55 balls, including a six off the last ball to do it.

Middlesex had to chase a huge score, but it was looking threatening – was help at hand?

And down it came – hail then torrential rain.

Lake Lords was filling up

Cricket the English way, good to see some things don’t change.
