And that is exactly what is happening here. Deildartunguhver thermal spring produces 180 litres of boiling water per second and it is piped to 3 major towns, a total of 74km. It arrives 24 hours later at 170 deg F. No need to install a Rheem.
Yesterday we had to hand the car back – unfortunately they noticed the missing hub cap, which of course wasn’t covered by the insurance. I told them we lost it driving in to see a glacier and if they were prepared to wait a few hundred years, it would appear again, but alas they were impatient.
We have had to spend an extra unplanned day in Reykjavik and found some cheap digs. We re-arranged the furniture to get our suitcases in and the bathroom is conveniently located down the hallway.
And it was a steal at $200 per night!
