I love my 10 – 22mm wide angle lens. I often joke that it is welded on to my camera and what’s more the lens is stuck at the 10mm end. However long lenses can be very handy in landscape photography – check out the images in the “Beware Small Apertures” post and also these ones I took in the Derwent Valley a few weeks ago. With a long lens you can compress the elements in the photo – they appear much closer together than they actually are. Also, you can eliminate sky when you don’t want it. Keep it in mind for something different.
