I have no formal qualifications in photography, most of what I have learnt is from my 20+ years membership of a camera club. I am surrounded by like-minded enthusiasts with interests in so many facets of photography that I can’t help learning by just being with them. And they’re all keen to help.
One of the great things for me is to be able to spend time with my friends on our various excursions. Last year I announced at a meeting that I wanted to go for a bushwalk in the Tarkine area in November. Eight other club members joined me for four days. We are very slow bushwalkers, in fact we spend most of our time with our packs off taking photographs. I have just returned from three days at Cradle Mountain with nine club members – we took lots of photos and drank a fair bit of wine while swapping stories in the evening.
Several weeks ago a member posted to our website that he wanted to spend a few days in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. The result -shortly a group of us will be walking into Pelion Hut and staying there for three nights – can’t wait!
So, try a camera club and get involved – you can’t help but improve your photography. My camera club is The Hobart Photographic Society, you can google it if you wish.
Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance. I must say you’ve done a
excellent job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Internet explorer.
Excellent Blog!
