It was bitterly cold here yesterday with rain and a strong wind straight off the north pole, but before you feel too sorry for us we did find some relief for a few hours
We were drenched by the spray from Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe with 200 tonnes of water per second thundering over a 44m drop.
People used to swim inside this cave, but the water is now too hot.
We walked around an explosion crater with blue-green water at the bottom
This snow patch was only a few metres from some boiling mud and water and I could walk through it,
The Krafla volcano was active between 1975 and 1984 and we walked all over the steaming crater, the landscape was surreal
The natural geothermal pool was a just reward for a tough day.
